Today, in the
17th ScienceBeer, Oluwafemi was our Science Brewer. Oluwafemi is a PhD student in TU-Dresden and works on Understanding Substance Absorption.
Oluwafemi brought us to a journey inside the humans body; the art of absorption. He explained how our body absorbs different ingredients of our daily diets. More importantly what are our bodies’ boundaries? What is food poisoning? How we can fool our body to accept or reject a specific food ingredient? Also he explained how a piece of intestine can be cut out and kept alive in the laboratory, such that its functionality can be observed and analyzed.
